2007 culture blue book reveals the new regulatory policy of the Chinese government to blog.

Zhang xiaoming claims that till the end of June last year, the frequent bloggers have reached 28 million in China , while 150 million at the end of 2005.
He thinks
the number has risen dramatically. "The trend indicates that 'new entertainment era' is coming".

He says that blogger as a kind of "creator" has increasing influence, so the state department concerned will issue policies at the proper time to strengthen the regulation of this new media.
Meanwhile, he also expresses that these regulatory policies are under the research and China is keeping up with the world at the aspect.

Lenovo.Inc plans to lay off 1000 employees, including 400 staffs in the region of Great China

It is reported by overseas media that Lenovo Groups continue the process of corporation restructure, laying off about 1000 employees in global, 400 employees in the region of Great China included.

The news quoted what an insider said that the action will be taken recently. Lenovo needs to pay 60million dollars for layoffs, but the company will save 150millions per year.

Lenovo has ever structured on March last year with laying off 1000 employees to integrate global marketing and office support function.

The request for Google's getting Chinese domain name(www.gmail.cn) has failed.

City Netizen Spend 2 Hours on the Internet Per Day

The data, from the report released by CTR market research organization, show that netizen of Chinese cities spend 2 hours on the web per day.

The report says that the average time of surfing the web for Chinese has grown rapidly in the past 5 years, 88.5 minutes in 2002 to 137.8 minutes in 2006.

The people in charge of media and production research department in CTR claims that the average time daily which people spend on the web will surpass the average time on TV in 2007 with the present growth rate , becoming the longest time of media for netizen

The report also shows that the share of netizen in home increase steadily while the share of netizen in net bar decreases sharply. The main place for people surfing the web are in-home and in-company.

Baidu(Nasdaq: BIDU) will spend $ 150 million into Japanese market

Baidu(Nasdaq: BIDU) release Q4 and 2006 earning results early today. Then, Robin Li, CEO of Baidu.com and Shawn Wang, CFO of Baidu.com deliver a call conference, answering the questions from analysist.

Shawn Wang claims that Baidu.com plans to invest $150 million in the Japanese market, including recruiting staff, web construction and daily operation. Robin Li says that the company will recruit Chinese and Japanese employees simultaneously and put servers in Japan to realize the localization.

The Former Blizzard Staff Resign to Start Up

Feb 5th, the RED 5 studio, composed of former "Warcraft of the World" core creative team, claimed that a co-headquarter would be set up in Shanghai.

RED 5 Studio's aim is to develop MMOs. This company will design and develop north-America- and-Asia-oriented productions with collaboration separately in Shanghai and California.

RED 5 has raised 150 million RMB as the series-B fund invested by BENCHMARK CAPTITAL and SIERRA VENTURES, for the construction of global studio. SIERRA is one of the strategy investor of GOBI VENTURES, which is a venture capital company in Shanghai, focusing on the digital media field.

The China web apps research top3:search, portal, Email

The Internet association declare that the statistic shows that the search, portal web and e-mail are the most frequent services the netizen use when they are surfing the web.

The data,released by DCCI International Data Centre indicates,shows that:
